Airing of the Quilts - Saturday, May 3
The Stanly County
Historical Society has another great event happening soon! Join us for “Airing
of the Quilts” on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
In the historic setting
of the 1852 Isaiah W. Snuggs House, this annual show will feature quilts from
The Three Rivers Quilt Guild. Airing quilts outside has a long tradition in
America beginning in colonial times. Early European settlers would mark the
beginning of spring by airing quilts outside following heavy use during the
winter season.
Local quilter and guild member Wanda Brooks will be on hand to
authenticate and date your heirloom quilts and answer your quilting questions.
Event is free.
